about

Mastrangelus is the new solo project by Gianluca Mastrangelo, the frontman of Vivaldi Metal Project and De La Muerte, set to release the debut album "Odi et Amo" on March 8, 2024, via Revalve Records. The album will be a concept album of intense prog metal with distinct epic sounds. It's a monumental and ambitious work comprising eight tracks, featuring the extraordinary contributions of Maestro Mistheria (Bruce Dickinson-Vivaldi Metal Project), Mark Boals, and John Macaluso.

The concept revolves around a fantasy story set in a parallel dimension where Mastrangelus is a court magician/scientist. He falls in love with the Queen and, to conceal their meetings, he employs a magical portal that stops time for two hours. However, this act corrupts the magician's soul irreversibly. Eventually, he is ostracized by the people due to his experiments, as he attempts to persuade the Queen to abandon reality for another dimension... Only time will tell how it will conclude.

Additionally, those involved in the making of the album include:
Guitars: Marko Pavic (Pavic), Luca Montella (Mastrangelus), Andrea Campisano, Giacomo Tomasso (Muja), Francesco Mattei (Noveria)
Bass: Francesco Stoia (Tiromancino), Dino Fiorenza Ivano Salvatori (Balletto di Bronzo), Fulvio Spada (Ignorantia Legit), Gianluca Matrangelo
Drums: John Macaluso (Y.J. Malmsteen-Ark), Valerio Manca
Vocals: Gianluca Mastrangelo (De La Muerte - Vivaldi Metal Project), Mark Boals (Y.J. Malmsteen – Ring of Fire), Arianna Marciano (Vivaldi Metal Project)
Strings: Luca Basile
Keyboards and Piano: Maestro Mistheria (Bruce Dickinson-Vivaldi Metal Project)
Mixed by Francesco Mattei at Underworld Studio’s.
